Ziavi Tutui Coffee Secures Ministerial Support to Scale Production and Expand Export Reach

The Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, has pledged his office’s full support to Ziavi Tutui Coffee as part of a broader strategy to strengthen the region’s agribusiness value chain and expand its export capacity. The commitment followed a strategic meeting with the company’s management, led by Chief Executive Officer Benjamin Horlali Kofi Atidjah, to discuss operational strategies, challenges, and market prospects.

Gunu commended the firm’s innovation and dedication to developing a competitive coffee brand from the Volta Region, noting that its locally grown coffee possesses distinctive qualities that can compete internationally. He said the initiative aligns with government’s industrialisation and export diversification agenda and could significantly contribute to Ghana’s non-traditional export earnings.

“The coffee we have in Volta is unique, it has the potential to be expanded and exported to contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s economy,” he said, reaffirming the region’s readiness to facilitate initiatives that link agriculture, technology, and entrepreneurship.

The Minister underscored the importance of investing in modern technology, training, and sustainable farming practices to drive productivity and improve value addition. He urged Ziavi Tutui Coffee to take advantage of national initiatives such as the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) to access funding and technical support for scaling operations.

As part of his commitment, Gunu announced plans to connect the company with key trade and investment institutions, including the Ghana Free Zones Authority and the Ghana Export Promotion Authority, to help the business explore new markets, secure export certification, and build global competitiveness.

He assured that the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC) will continue to serve as a strategic partner for businesses creating jobs and empowering local communities. A focus of the meeting was also to ensure that regional enterprises like Ziavi Tutui Coffee become anchors for sustainable growth and rural transformation.

The meeting is part of ongoing efforts by the regional administration to promote agribusiness-led industrialisation and harness the Volta Region’s comparative advantages. By supporting local enterprises to scale and export, the VRCC aims to strengthen the regional economy and contribute to Ghana’s broader economic diversification goals.
