The Volta Region is poised for an economic transformation as the 7th Volta Trade and Investment Fair readies to position itself as “Ghana’s Eastern Gateway to regional markets.”

Volta Fair Breaks Ground with Ghana’s First 24-Hour Trade Exhibition

This year’s edition makes history as Ghana’s first-ever continuous trade exhibition, introducing designated 24-hour fair days. Organizers say this innovation is aligned with government’s agenda to build a thriving 24-hour economy.

“The extended hours aim to increase engagement, encourage night-time economic activity, and align directly with the Government of Ghana’s 24-hour economy agenda,” the organisers noted in a joint press statement.

A Gateway to West Africa

Volta Fair Breaks Ground with Ghana’s First 24-Hour Trade Exhibition

The Fair seeks to project Volta not just as an investment and innovation hub, but strategically as a trade gateway to Togo, Benin, Nigeria, and Cameroon. Exhibitors will feature companies from Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, Namibia, Kenya, India, and Malaysia, spanning agribusiness, tourism, ICT, manufacturing, creative arts, and sustainability sectors.

Flagship Events to Drive Policy and Business Insight

To complement exhibitions, impactful forums will run concurrently, including;

Volta Investment Summit

Women in Entrepreneurship Forum

Youth in Entrepreneurship Summit

AI & Innovation Forum

Creative Arts and Sports Development Forums

“These knowledge-sharing platforms will complement the exhibitions by providing capacity building, policy discussions, and actionable insight to empower businesses and individuals,” organisers stated, adding that they will also promote financial inclusion and job creation across the region.

Pre-Fair Build-up to Boost Tourism and Corporate Engagement

The roadmap includes Corporate Fun Games and the formal launch of the Fair in August 2025, as well as Visit Volta, Experience Ghana, a curated tourism tour in September to promote the region’s cultural heritage and destinations.

Catalyst for Jobs and Strategic Partnerships

Described as “more than an exhibition,” the Volta Fair is billed as a catalyst for economic development, local empowerment, and international partnerships. Organisers are calling on the private sector, development agencies, government institutions, and foreign missions to participate in what promises to be the fair’s most ambitious edition yet.
