The Evening of Reflections and Memorial for the eight victims of Wednesday’s military helicopter crash is currently underway at the Forecourt of the State House.

The solemn ceremony forms part of the official three-day national mourning period declared by President John Mahama to honour the memory of Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Environment Minister Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, and six others who died when a Ghana Air Force helicopter went down in the Adansi-Akrofuom District on August 6, 2025.

The program includes interfaith prayers and tributes from the President and Vice President, family members, government officials, and other state institutions.
