Black Stars forward Mohammed Fuseini says he is hoping to take the national team to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
With four games left in the qualification process, Ghana sit top of Group I, three points clear of second-placed Comoros.
Fuseini came into the national team for the first time during the 2025 Unity Cup in London, where he featured in the games against Nigeria and Trinidad and Tobago.
The forward also scored his maiden goal for the national team on his full debut in the third-place playoff game against Trinidad and Tobago.
In an interview with Joy Sports, Fuseini says he is already looking at taking Ghana back to the glory days.
“I am really confident that the team is going to make the 2026 World Cup because with the players we have, it should be possible to win the remaining games,” he said.
“My target is to stay in the national team and become a starter, score goals for the national team and take the team to where it should be.”
Reflecting on the Unity Cup, the Belgian-based attacker believes it was a great opportunity for the young players.
“There’s a lot of competition in there, especially with the wingers and the forward lines. It was a great opportunity for some of us to also showcase our talent,” he added.
“I think we have a lot of talented players. We just need to build on it to make the team stronger, where we can play together and win games.”
Fuseini is currently back with Royale Union Saint-Gilloise as they prepare for the upcoming season.
