A high-levelled delegation of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), led by the Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has visited the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana at Spintex in an effort to strengthen tax compliance and foster deeper collaboration with industry stakeholders.
The engagement is part of the GRA’s broader stakeholder outreach programme aimed at enhancing mutual understanding, streamlining tax administration, and promoting voluntary compliance across key sectors of the economy.
During the visit, the Commissioner-General and his team toured Coca-Cola’s production facility to gain first-hand insight into the company’s manufacturing processes, supply chain logistics, and operational challenges. The visit also served as a platform for dialogue on critical issues affecting both the private sector and tax authorities.
Mr. Sarpong underscored the importance of strong public-private collaboration in addressing national economic challenges, particularly illegal trade practices and revenue leakages.

“We are in a war against smuggling, a threat that undermines national development. The private sector cannot be left to fight this battle alone. At GRA, we are deploying a combination of intelligence gathering, satellite surveillance, and robust human resource strategies to curb these illegal activities. This collaborative effort is essential to safeguarding the integrity of our economy.” he said.
He also announced the rollout of a new national campaign dubbed Sustained Tax Education, a multi-pronged initiative designed to enhance public awareness of tax laws and the benefits of compliance. The programme will utilize both traditional and digital platforms to educate citizens on their tax obligations and promote a culture of responsible corporate citizenship.
Welcoming the GRA delegation, Felix Gomis, Managing Director of the West Africa Business Unit of Equatorial Coca-Cola Bottling Company which oversees Coca-Cola’s operations across North and West Africa commended the initiative and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to full tax compliance and national development.
“We appreciate this engagement with the GRA and value the opportunity to strengthen our partnership. Responsible corporate citizenship and support for national development remain central to our operations,” Gomis stated.
The visit forms part of the GRA’s renewed focus under President John Dramani Mahama’s Reset Agenda, which emphasizes economic recovery through tax mobilization, business sustainability, and job creation.

Joining the Commissioner-General on the visit were Brigadier General Glover Anang, Commissioner of Customs; Elsie Appau-Klu, Technical Advisor to the Commissioner-General; and Eric Bonney, Assistant Commissioner of the Preventive Customs Division demonstrating the Authority’s top-level commitment to stakeholder engagement and economic collaboration.
As Ghana looks to consolidate fiscal stability and drive private sector-led growth, such industry-focused engagements mark a shift toward more responsive, transparent, and collaborative tax governance.
