Ghana is set to host a high-level delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia led by Eng. Waleed Bin Abdul-Karim Al-Khereiji, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, for political and economic consultations aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation, particularly in energy, air transport, and education.

The meeting, announced following discussions between Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP), and the Saudi Ambassador to Ghana, Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Dhakel, marks a significant step in strengthening economic diplomacy between the two nations.

Deliberations are expected to focus heavily on partnerships in the oil and gas sector, collaboration in air transport and aviation infrastructure, and expanded educational exchanges through cooperation with the King Salman Institute.

In a move expected to boost private sector engagement, the Saudi Vice Minister will be accompanied by a business delegation for B2B sessions with Ghanaian enterprises. The sessions will explore investment opportunities, joint ventures, and trade partnerships across key sectors of mutual interest.

Ambassador Al-Dhakel expressed appreciation to Ghana for its continued support at multilateral bodies, including the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) and the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), a gesture reflecting Ghana’s growing strategic relevance within global institutions.

The upcoming consultations signal deepening economic ties between Accra and Riyadh, with expectations that the engagements could pave the way for Saudi investment in Ghana’s energy infrastructure and broader participation in the country’s industrialisation drive under the government’s economic transformation agenda.
