The Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA) has hosted Egyptian beverage packaging company YES PAC as the firm explores potential investment opportunities under the country’s Free Zones Scheme.

Dr. Mary Awusi, Chief Executive Officer of GFZA, received Mr. Mohamed Taher, Director for International Development at YES PAC, in Accra. The meeting, facilitated by the Ghana Investment Promotion Authority (GIPC), introduced the investor to Ghana’s Free Zones framework and highlighted its synergy with the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

Mr. Taher was briefed on the competitive advantages available to companies, including the ability to access both Free Zones incentives and AfCFTA’s continent-wide market integration.

Dr. Awusi assured the visiting delegation of the Authority’s full support in establishing operations. She cited Ghana’s political stability, reliable electricity supply, and position as host of the AfCFTA Secretariat as strong investment advantages. The Authority pledged to guide YES PAC through a smooth process in setting up operations under the scheme, adding that such investments would contribute to job creation, trade growth, and national developmt.

The meeting also underscored GFZA’s commitment to attracting value-adding investors into Ghana’s export-oriented sectors. Officials present included Hamidu Sibiri Musah, Deputy CEO (Finance & Administration), Dr. Patience Agbleze Acorlor, Director of Corporate Affairs & Public Relations, and Kingsford Dagre, Assistant Manager, Business Development, AfCFTA & Special Projects.

YES PAC’s exploratory adds to efforts to leverage Free Zones as a platform for export-led growth and to position itself as a gateway for companies seeking to access wider African markets under AfCFTA.
