The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a nationwide revenue mobilisation campaign dubbed “Operation ALL MUST PAY,” set to begin on Monday, July 14, and run until Friday, July 25, 2025, in an aggressive move to recover outstanding arrears threatening its financial stability.
The campaign, according to ECG, targets all customer segments, including residential, commercial, industrial, and government institutions, as part of efforts to sustain operations and guarantee reliable power supply nationwide.
“This campaign targets all customers, including residential, commercial, industrial, and government sectors,” said Dr. Charles Nii Ayiku Ayiku, General Manager of External Communications at ECG.
“Special teams will be deployed to ensure compliance, and we will closely monitor for any illegal connections or attempts to reconnect power,” he added.
Strict Enforcement Measures

ECG warns that customers who fail to settle their arrears will face immediate disconnections and additional re-connection fees. The company will also conduct meter integrity inspections during the operation to curb power theft and illegal connections.
Dr. Ayiku emphasised the critical importance of timely payments to the company’s financial health and service delivery:
“The ALL MUST PAY campaign is crucial for strengthening ECG’s financial health and improving service delivery. It will help ensure a stable and reliable power supply across the country,” he stated.
Secure Payment Channels and Scam Alerts
Customers are encouraged to use the official ECG Mobile App, available on Google Play Store, or contact the ECG call centre for secure payments. Dr. Ayiku warned against scammers promoting fake payment platforms:
“We urge customers to use only approved payment methods to avoid falling victim to fraudsters,” he cautioned.
Customer Engagement and Operational Support
Beyond revenue collection, ECG says the campaign will engage customers to resolve operational issues and enhance service experience.
“Customers with outstanding balances should take immediate action to avoid service disruptions,” ECG urged in its statement.
For more information, customers are advised to visit ECG’s official website or follow their social media handles for updates throughout the campaign period.
Strategic Implications
Analysts say the **‘ALL MUST PAY’ initiative signals ECG’s intensified focus on revenue recovery to finance maintenance, expansion, and power stability amid rising operational costs and sector debts.
