Kumawood actor Don Little has shared a dramatic experience from his recent trip to Ethiopia, where he nearly found himself in serious trouble for attempting to pay with Ghanaian cedis.
In a video posted on his Instagram, the diminutive actor narrated how the incident unfolded while he was seated in business class on a flight. According to him, when he boarded the plane in Ghana, the only money he had on him was Ghana cedis, even though he was aware he needed to exchange it into foreign currency before travelling.

He explained:
And then I got to Addis Ababa. I landed in the morning. The flight was at dawn, around 12 a.m. As we were about to take off, I suddenly felt hungry, but I did not know where to buy food

Out of desperation, Don Little said he approached a stranger to ask for food, intending to give the person the cedi equivalent of the Ethiopian birr. Unfortunately, the person suspected him of being a thief and called the police.
“I know this guy, he is a comedian,” Don Little recalled, mimicking one of the officers who recognised him after they arrived. A search quickly confirmed his identity as a Ghanaian actor and comic, clearing him of any wrongdoing.

The actor admitted that he was lucky to have been recognised, adding that if not for that officer, he could have ended up in prison for a crime he did not commit. “I beg of you, my Ghanaian siblings, let’s use this as a lesson. Whenever you are travelling, make sure to change money to the currency of the country you are visiting,” he advised.
Following his revelation, many of his followers flooded the comments section, urging him to get a credit card to avoid such financial challenges when travelling abroad.
