In its continuous effort to deepen democratic engagement through sports, the Parliamentary Service of Ghana will on July 24, 2025, officially launch the second edition of the Democracy Cup at the Justice D. F. Annan Auditorium, Parliament House, Accra.
The launch event is scheduled for 3:00pm.
The Democracy Cup, initiated in 2024, serves as a symbolic intersection of sports and civic values, aimed at promoting unity and fostering a stronger democratic culture in Ghana.
The first edition, held at the Accra Sports Stadium on July 17, 2024, featured a high-profile match between Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak, which saw Kotoko emerge as champions.
This year’s launch will announce the two football clubs set to compete in the 2025 edition, while providing further insights into match arrangements and other related activities designed to engage the public.
The Parliamentary Service has assured that this second edition will be full of excitement and unexpected moments, as it seeks to further engrain the Democracy Cup on the national football calendar.
Ghanaians are therefore encouraged to “watch the space” for what promises to be an electrifying showcase of football, patriotism, and democratic spirit.
