Citizen Eye Ghana lauds Julius Debrah for leadership style and economic impact

The President of Citizen Eye Ghana, Alex Tetteh, has commended the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, for his unwavering loyalty to President John Dramani Mahama and his leadership role in Ghana’s recent economic recovery.

In an interview with Accra-based Okay FM, Mr Tetteh credited Julius Debrah with helping stabilise the Ghanaian cedi and fostering investor confidence.

He lauded Mr Debrah’s organisational efforts in engaging the business community through initiatives like the Kwahu Business Forum.

“While others branded themselves as economic whiz kids and delivered catastrophic currency
depreciation, Julius Debrah has focused on results, not words,” he said.

“Bawumia watched idly as the cedi plummeted to historic lows. The evidence of failure is public record, and he clearly has no shame to be contesting for presidency again.”

Mr Tetteh, who praised Julius Debrah’s political grooming under former presidents Jerry Rawlings, John Atta Mills, and Mahama, argued that such experience prepared him for national leadership.

“He’s been in the engine room of governance, learning from the very best this country has produced. His experience is not just book knowledge; it is governance in practice,” he remarked.

He recalled Debrah’s tenure as local government minister, citing it as instrumental in advancing decentralization and rural empowerment.

“That ministry shaped Julius Debrah into a servant of the grassroots. His understanding of governance is deeply connected to the grassroots as he has helped a lot of people with his position.”

Mr Tetteh also warned the opposition New Patriotic Party leadership not to underestimate Kennedy Agyapong’s support base in the party’s upcoming internal elections.

“The NPP must not make the mistake of undermining the will of their grassroots. Hon. Kennedy
Agyapong is the people’s choice. Any rigging or manipulations will destabilize the party, and
another loss will be inevitable.”

He further warned that if the NPP leadership fails to ensure a fair process, the woes of the 2024
election will be irrelevant when compared to what will happen in 2028.

“We will not stand by and watch injustice destroy the democratic fabric of the party. If the NPP cannot uphold fairness, we will rally behind a credible and experienced alternative like Julius Debrah.”

Mr Tetteh concluded by suggesting President Mahama’s continued trust in Julius Debrah for sensitive assignments, such as managing recent controversies involving party figure Sammy Gyamfi.
