The CEO Network of Ghana has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic deaths of Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Environment Minister Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, and six others in Wednesday’s military helicopter crash in the Ashanti Region.
In a statement signed by the Founding CEO, Ernest De-Graft Egyir after the incident, the network described the deceased as patriots who embodied leadership, service, and sacrifice in the nation’s development agenda.
“These were patriots who exemplified leadership, service, and sacrifice in the pursuit of national development. Their deaths are a painful loss not only to their families and institutions but to the entire nation,” the statement said.
The network extended condolences to the bereaved families, the Government of Ghana, and the wider public, urging unity in this period of national mourning.
“In this time of deep grief, may we remain united in honouring their memory and recommitting ourselves to the ideals for which they stood,” the statement added.
The victims were traveling to the Obuasi area when their Ghana Armed Forces helicopter went off radar and later crashed in the Adansi Akrofuom District.
Military authorities have since confirmed all eight persons on board died.
