Beyond the revocation, investigate if Sansa Daly qualified as medical doctor from Johns Hopkins – Dotsei Malor

A former Deputy Editor at the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), Ben Dotsei Malor,  says beyond the revocation of her appointment as a member of the Board of National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) , a thorough investigations should be done to certain if Anne Sansa Daly really qualified as a medical doctor from the prestigious Johns Hopkins University Medical School and graduated with a solid GPA of 4.0. 

Mr Malor described the revocation of her appointment as a good decision.

“Good decision ….  A serious and urgent probe is needed to check if this person really qualified as a medical doctor from the prestigious Johns Hopkins University Medical School and graduated with a solid GPA of 4.0.

“It would be a daring claim, a serious act of pretension, and a high crime for anyone to claim to be a medical doctor when they are not,” he wrote on Facebook.

On Wednesday May 28, President Mahama has with immediate effect revoked the appointment of Anne Sansa Daly as a member of the Board of National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).

The President has nominated Prof. Dr. (Med) Ernest Yorke to replace her as a member of the Board.

“Kindly take the necessary steps to facilitate the swearing-in of Prof. Dr. (Med) Ernest Yorke accordingly,” a statement from the Office of the President signed on May 23, 2025 noted.

“ Please accept the assurances of the highest consideration of His Excellency, the President of the Republic,” Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama said in the statement.

Although it is not clear the reason for the reversal of Anne Sansa Daly’s appointment as a board member, there have been concerns recently that she does not hold license to practice in Ghana as a doctor.

Prof. Ernest Yorke is a seasoned medical practitioner and former Greater Accra Regional Chair of the Ghana Medical Association. He’s been applauded as an industry expert suitable for the replacement.
