2025 Democracy Cup: Great Olympics will be crowned champions on September 5 – Larry Sumaila

Great Olympics defender Larry Sumaila has expressed confidence that the Dade Boys will win the 2025 Democracy Cup trophy scheduled for next week.

They face city rivals Hearts of Oak in the second edition of the annual tournament at the University of Ghana Stadium on Friday, September 5.

Sumaila, who will come up against his former club, has promised fans an exciting game on a day set aside by the Parliament of Ghana to use football as a tool to celebrate democracy.

“We all know when it comes to Hearts of Oak and Olympics, the rivalry between the two teams is very great and intense,” he told reporters at the club’s training ground on Thursday.

“We call on everyone to come to the stadium to witness a very good football game.

“We want to invite all our supporters to rally behind us on the 5th of September at the Legon Sports Stadium to come and cheer us on so that we can bring back the glory to Great Olympics.

“We won’t disappoint. Everybody knows that Great Olympics are going to be crowned champions.”

Preparations for the clash received a boost on Thursday when Twellium Industrial Company donated cartons of water and energy drinks to the squad at their La McDan Park training base.
